About Us

Bristol Baseball, Inc. (BBI), the non-profit corporation dedicated to keeping baseball alive in Bristol, Virginia-Tennessee and which has sponsored organized baseball in Bristol for more than a half-century, is proud to continue operating in the Appalachian League, now the Premier Collegiate Wood-Bat League.

“BBI is excited to be a part of the Premier Collegiate Wooden-Bat League as we partner up with Major League Baseball and U.S.A. Baseball and to be able to welcome college stars to Bristol,” commented BBI President Mahlon Luttrell.  “We are glad to be able to keep high-quality baseball in Bristol.”

BBI is able to offer fun and affordable family entertainment in the form of high quality baseball games because we function primarily through our all-volunteer Board of Directors, members of whom labor diligently throughout the year (including the off-season) to ensure both that Boyce Cox Field meets the high standards required of a top-notchl baseball facility and that the non-profit remains adequately funded.

Bristol's entry in the Appalachian League made its first appearance in the Twin Cities of Bristol, Virginia and Bristol, Tennessee in 1911, 16 years before Jimmie Rodgers, the Carter Family and others made their historic recordings downtown, and five decades before NASCAR first came to town.

BBI firmly believes that the presence of baseball in Bristol is a public good.  Our citizens' lives are improved by having this entertainment opportunity.  Our young student-athletes learn valuable lessons observing the young men who take the field each summer, on the first rung of what they hope will be their climb to the big leagues.

With your support of BBI, and our business and corporate sponsors and advertisers, baseball will remain alive in Bristol for years to come.
